Action Shooting With The Buffalo Target Shooters AssociationThe Buffalo Target Shooters Association (BTSA), though primarily a handgun shooting sports group, accommodates many different types of shooting styles and disciplines. BTSA’s facilities provide an accessible and safe environment for recreational shooting for most shooting sports enthusiasts and are configured for: handgun – any caliber, black powder, rimfire rifle, shotgun and centrefire rifle. BTSA is dedicated to the advancement of a marksmanship discipline known as “practical shooting” or “action shooting”, with affiliations with IDPA, Steel Challenge, IPSC and USPSA. Action shooting is commonly referred to “Run and Gun” because you do not just stand and shoot. Many stages require moving safely between different targets and shooting under, over, and around barriers. This discipline provides a great deal of enjoyment, and is challenging. Conveniently located less than an hour West of Calgary in southern Alberta. We are a member of the Alberta Provincial Rifle Association, (APRA) since the 1960’s. As a private club, and is only open to its members and their guests. The range is open to the public for special events and most Club Matches. The ETCC-Basic Course is for those who want training in basic life-saving medical interventions, including bleeding control with direct pressure, tourniquets and wound packing.
